Five things I don’t understand right now.

The title sounds like it’s going to be way more dramatic than it is but there have been (as I’m sure there are with everyone at the moment) a lot of things on my mind at the moment that I just need to get off of my chest. These are just five of them:

  1. Why boys have ‘trust issues’ about girls wearing makeup.

I saw a post on Facebook earlier today that showed a beautifully stunning girl showing what her face looked like – one side with makeup and the other without. Either way to any normal person, she was beautiful. But there’s always got to be that one commentator (or a dozen) who has to bring the tone down. I saw one guy reply with ‘see, this is why guys should have trust issues and not girls.’ There are just so many things wrong with this sentence. And I can hear the people in the back screaming NOT ALL MEN and you’re right. I know a lot of decent men, just like I know a lot of decent women. But there’s always got to be someone who will lower the tone. The fact that some of these people apparently think that we are born with silver shimmer eyes and eyebrows on fleek and shiny lips makes me question so many things. Like my sanity.

2. Why girls compete with girls.

In a world where we are constantly battling to let our voices be heard and for social opinions to change – the one thing I will never ever understand is how cruel girls can be to other girls. The fact that a lot of people see life as a competition – who has the best car, who has the prettiest hair, who has the longest lashes, the best makeup products, the best partner… it just never ceases to amaze me. My Mum always used to say to me that when people were bitter towards me, it was because they were jealous and I never believed her. But as I’ve grown, I’ve started to notice that these cruel girls really are just insecure. The way I see it, we should all just build each other up for every time someone tries to knock us down.

3. Why Disney thinks it needs to remake its classics.

When they stated that they were going to remake the Jungle Book (2016), I was so excited to see it as I never really enjoyed the cartoon and thought that it would be far more enjoyable as an animated vs. real life. But now I think that they’ve reached a point where they need to stop. The fact that they’ve recently announced that they’re going to do nineteen remakes of their previous films… woah, nelly. Especially when they said they were going to remake Lion King. There’s just some films you don’t touch. See my review of the recent Beauty and the Beast here.

4. Why people are so quick to blame others.

After that brief interlude of a softer nature, I will never understand why people can’t own up to their mistakes. I’ve always had tonnes more respect for people who hold their hands up and say they messed up – no matter how big the mistake may be. We are all human, we all make mistakes. But what shows our worth is how we handle that.

5. Why people hate the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man films.

Hahaha, I’ve probably lost a lot of you by now because I know that franchise is meme-central. But I think there are some moments in them that make them truly memorable. Or meme-orable, am I right? I’ll see myself out. But I really enjoy them, Tobey is by far my favourite Spidey and I love all of the plots. Even though they are so cheesy at times, they’re easy to watch. I think the Spider-man reboots even in my time have been too many when they could be focusing on making a Black Widow or Harley Quinn film (yes, I know Natasha’s Marvel and Harley’s DC.) But where my girls at?

I know this is again a bit of a different post of mine. I will be back to doing my style steals in the next post!

Morgie out.

Honestly have the same thoughts about Disney remakes – they need to slow down! Just discovered and love your blog by the way! x

Yes! They really do – it’s too much. And thank you so much! That means a lot 🙂 x
