Hey guys! I can’t believe how far through Blogmas we are already. I’ve already done a makeup look in Blogmas but I thought I would do a wearable one for Christmas day. I’m going to do quite a simple one today and then a more glam/dramatic one tomorrow for those of you who like to get #extra with your makeup like I do. This one is just super pretty and simple and easy to do.
So, let’s get down to it!
First of all, I thought I would tell you guys what my new base routine as as I’ve always used the same since I’ve been on this blog, I think. But I recently discovered a new moisturiser and foundation combo that I have absolutely fallen in love with. The Nivea Daily Essentials Moisturiser* is my new favourite moisturiser ever. I used to use Clean&Clear’s but I mentioned before that I didn’t use it because I liked it particularly, just that I hadn’t found another that I liked that much. Then I discovered this one. It smooths your skin so much that it acts like a primer, it smells gorgeous and I’ve noticed such a difference in my skin ever since I’ve been using it. 100% recommend.
I also used the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation* for the first time the other day and the hype did not disappoint. It’s for normal to oily skin and intends to give you a matte and poreless finish. I have to admit, I rolled my eyes because I didn’t quite believe that it would do it but wow, was I wrong. It’s such a lovely foundation that sits so nicely on the skin and it definitely makes your pores less visible. I combined it with my L’Oreal True Match foundation*, though, just because it’s the tiniest bit too dark for me.
Next, I just filled in my brows with my go-to brow gel as I wanted the focus to be more on the eyes than the brows. As a base, I used the No.7 single shadow in Starry Eyed. It’s just a shimmery white which acts as a nice base for any eyeshadow look – it’s quickly becoming one of my go-tos! I then put No.7’s Truffle in my crease to deepen up the look. They’re both very buttery shadows so they’re really easy to blend.
I was originally going to leave it there but it’s not Christmas without a bit of shimmer! I then took my trusty Golden Sugar 2 Rose Gold Blush Palette by Makeup Revolution* (which you can get by clicking the banner below!) and placed the two golden colours in the palette (swatched below) over the top of my lid to give it some more oomph. But they’re still so simple that they’re just pretty to look at and perfect for this look. I applied them with my fingers to make sure they were fully pigmented. I then just put on my trusty L’Oreal Mega Volume Baby Roll mascara*.
I wanted to keep this look really simple hence the title so I just did my everyday highlight, blush and bronzer routine using the Kate 3-in-1 palette which I’ve mentioned tonnes of times on this blog, Thrilled by Tarte and my Benefit Hoola bronzer using my favourite Spectrum brush (A05).
Finally, the lips! Like I said, I wanted this to be just a simple and pretty look. I chose the Wetnwild Liquid Catsuit lipstick* because it’s long-lasting so you’d be able to eat your Christmas dinner while wearing it. I chose the shade Give Me Mocha which is a muted red so it still evokes the Christmas colours we all know and love! I put Rimmel London’s Spice around the lipstick just to give it a base.
So, there you have it! Let me know in the comments below if you guys want me to do any other makeup looks in particular – my dramatic Christmas look is coming tomorrow!
