Hey guys! Who is excited for Valentine’s Day? I love the colour palette of reds and pinks and lots of blushy, soft makeup looks that come out during this time so I thought I would do one of my own. This was supposed to be a lot more basic than it actually turned about to be – blame it on me being extra – but it’s super easy to do and looks lovely. I’m going to be doing a more dramatic one next so keep your eyes out for that and subscribe to my blog if you haven’t already!
Anyway, let’s get down to it!
First, use your favourite foundation. I wanted to use a warmer one for this look – especially as I’ve had the flu recently so I’m looking a bit pale – so I decided to use one that I haven’t for a long time which is the Rimmel London Lasting Finish in the shade *Warm Beige. It’s weirdly not too bad a match for me as long as I make sure to blend it down into my neck. I also took the Conceal & Define concealer (see my review here) from Makeup Revolution under my eyes and on top as a primer for the eyeshadow.
Make sure that whatever you do with your brows, it’s a soft look. I used my favourite brow product to achieve this look which is from IT Cosmetics (I reviewed this here.) I filled them in very lightly just to give them some definition and then I brushed them out at the front to make them all the more soft.
Then, onto the fun part! The eyes. First of all, I set the concealer that I had using the Makeup Revolution Light & Shade palette – I take the blushy colour onto my eyelid as a transition shade and then I take the highlight shade under my eyelids. I only really get away with this because of my skin tone but you guys feel free to adjust to whatever works best for you. Just make sure you have a relatively peachy transition shade above your crease. I normally use my contour brush from Real Techniques to do this as it blends out really quickly.
I then went into my current favourite palette at the moment which is the Makeup Revolution (I swear this isn’t sponsored by them, I just have a lot of their products!) collaboration with Sophdoesnails. First of all I took Peaches, which is the colour on the end column, second row and placed it all over my lid. I then took Strawberry Sweets which is the most pigmented pink shade I have ever used in my life (first column, bottom row) and blended it into the outer two thirds of my lid, making sure that the outer corner was the most pigmented. Blend it out until it’s soft. I then took Pink Champagne (fourth column, top row) on the inner third of my lid. I did the same for my lower lashline.
Add lots and lots of mascara – you want one that gives you length and volume so that you can bat your lashes at your Valentine all night long. Apply false lashes if you want a really full on effect – I’m seriously rubbish at it but I think they would look super pretty with this look. I used the Younique Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes mascara. Do a small-ish wing, too.
For this look, you want it to be super super blushy. Not only will this give you a really lovely flush and glow, it will emphasise the pink eyeshadow and bring out the colours. It will tie it all together in a lovely, vibrant way and will really stand out. I took the Tanya Burr Cosmetics Apricot Blush* which is my favourite blush at the moment – it has hearts on it, too, which is perfect for a Valentines look. I also took the softest highlight in the Sophdoesnails highlighter palette and blended that everywhere. I especially put it on my cupid’s bow because you know. Cupid.
Finally, the lips! I didn’t realise how many pink-y lipsticks I had when I was creating this look but I found loads. The option I went for in the end was the L’Oreal Matte Lip Paint in Nude on Fleek* which is so soft and comfortable – perfect for a dinner date! If you want to go the extra mile, too, then take Nyx’s Butter Gloss in Creme Brulee*. This combination is sure to give you kissable lips 😉
So, there you have it! Did you guys like this look? Let me know if you re-make it, I want to see the pictures!
