Full Face of Soap & Glory! ✨

Hey guys! Welcome back to my blog. I thought that I would start a new monthly (dependent on funds!) series where I try new makeup products every month. For this month, I decided to do a full face of first impressions of a brand that I’ve used bits of but never that much – Soap & Glory! They’re a drugstore brand that is very affordable and also have really inventive and cute packaging. When I think of them, I mainly think of their eyebrow products and their lip glosses so I thought I would try out some different things!

Let’s get down to it!

She’s A Natural Day to Night Face Palette, £14.

This is the biggest thing that I bought and it has a lot of product in. It has the three eyeshadow shades on the outside and then a bronzer, a cream blush and a cream highlighter. Let’s go through the eyeshadows first; I really liked the pigment on these and thought that they were pretty colours but they were just a bit… eh? Like there was nothing special about the colour and I didn’t think that they matched the rest of the palette so it was just a bit something and nothing. The bronzer was a dupe for Hoola Bronzer honestly; it was so cool toned and went on really nicely. I hated the cream blush and the cream highlighters, though, because they literally just blended into nothing. So a 1/6.

Archery 2-in-1 Brow Filling Pencil & Brush, £8.50

Like I said in the introduction, when I think of this brand, I think of their brow products. I remember they were the first ever brow product I used and I literally had no idea what I was supposed to do – I had no idea how to tame my brows (I still don’t), so they were super thick and it didn’t look like the pencil made much difference at all. But now, a few years later, I thought I would try again and I absolutely love this pencil. It’s a bit of a thinner dupe for the IT Cosmetics brow power pencil which you guys know I love so much. It’s literally my ride or die brow pencil but this once works exactly the same – like I said, it’s a bit thinner but that means you can make it more precise if you want to. It’s also £10 cheaper than the IT Cosmetics. I’m still unsure whether I’ll re-buy the brow power but this one is a good dupe for now!

Sexy MotherPucker Nudes Collection Lipstick, £4.82

This made me sad. Not because of anything to do with the collection as a whole, I actually love their lipsticks. I used one of them here in my Elsa tutorial. The formula is normally amazing but this one was so bad. It brought out all of the dry patches on your lips, it was so sheeny, it just looked awful! I thought perhaps it was me but then my sister tried it and she had a similar effect that it made her lips look quite dry. So gutting! The packaging is beautiful though so I’m keeping it as a blog photo prop.

Spectaculips Matte-allic Lip Cream, £3.82

This was my favourite thing in the whole order. I literally am so happy that I bought this because I wasn’t going to – I kept umming and ahhing about whether I should and then I thought, heck it! Because I’ve never tried a liquid lipstick formula from this brand, I thought I would as I lean towards liquid lipsticks rather than the bullet ones. This is honestly the best formula I have ever used. I know I say that about every new liquid lipstick I try – I’ll have to do a post about my favourites! – but this is so fast drying, it doesn’t move at all and it is a stunning colour. I wore this every day for ages because I just loved it so much. I’m definitely going to try more of their lipsticks in the future.

Thick & Fast HD Mascara, £7.86

I think for future posts I’m going to leave mascara out of it unless it really makes a storm within the makeup industry because I’m so allergic to some – I don’t seem to be having a reaction to this one right now but it’s definitely a bit something or nothing. It does make your lashes look thick but it doesn’t really do that much that I’d say ‘buy it buy it buy it!’ It’s also very wet which I also don’t like in a mascara. But similarly to the lipstick, the packaging is gorgeous.

Sorry about the blueness in these photos, guys! The light is not playing game with me recently which I’m so sad about. Is anyone else struggling with this? Do you have any advice? Let me know in the comments! Which brand would you like me to test next?

Morgie out.
