Hey guys! So, here I am again with another makeup review. I seriously love trying out new makeup products, if you guys can’t tell from my recent posts. But something that I’ve always struggled with is trying new foundations because I get so used to using the same ones. I don’t know why it feels even more disappointing than any other makeup product when you buy a foundation but it does – maybe it’s because they’re more expensive as a whole than other products but I always feel so gutted when I don’t like a foundation.
I’m doing a series each month on my blog of either buying a high end product and reviewing it or I’m going to buy a selection of new drugstore makeup products and give you guys my review of it. This is the second in it as I reviewed the new Barry M Liquid Lip Paints here. But if you guys have anything else you’d like me to review then let me know in the comments! I’ve heard about this foundation on Naomi Jon’s Youtube channel a few times because she uses that all the time in her videos and she had a really high opinion of it – because I have a high opinion of her, too, I thought it was the best one to go for when my Fit Me ran out. It was £9.99 and I got the matte version of it as there’s a few different versions.
The consistency itself is like a mousse which totally took me off guard. I was expecting it to be liquidy but it’s literally like chocolate mousse down to the bubbly texture. I had no idea how to look at this, I had no idea how to use it because I’ve never used a foundation like this. So, at first I tried it with a beauty blender and it honestly looked awful. I couldn’t get over how bad it was – it brought out all of the texture in my skin, it looked so cakey and gross. So, I thought it was a complete write-off.
Until I tried it with a brush.
I used my buffing brush from Real Techniques and I can’t believe how much it changed the finish of it. It looked flawless, felt totally lightweight and lasted all day. It just opened my eyes so much to why applicators are so essential to a makeup look. I don’t know how people make it look good with anything other than a brush as it looked atrocious. But one of the best parts is that you barely have to use any product at all to get a full coverage. I use the tiniest ball of foundation and just rub it all over my face with my fingers and then blend it in.
It does what it says on the tin, too. It’s matte, long-lasting and full coverage. I’m not sure if it’s the best foundation I’ve ever used in my life but I really do like it. I’m going to try other foundations once this one runs out because I still haven’t found my holy grail foundation. If you guys have any suggestions then please let me know in the comments!
So, there you have it! Do you guys like this foundation? Let me know in the comments below! Also let me know if there are any products you would like me to review in the future as I love doing posts like this.
