Revolution Fast Base Foundation Stick – Worth the Hype? 🤔

Hey guys! I’m back! I took a week off last week because of being busy with Easter things and celebrating my mum’s birthday but I’m back in the blogging swing now.

I’m finally reviewing this foundation which has been all over social media at the moment and it’s not because I’m lazy that I haven’t tried it – it’s because it was literally out of stock everywhere I tried! If you want to see the last foundation that I reviewed then click here, it’s the L’Oreal Infalliable Foundation. I’ve literally been trying to get a hold of this foundation for weeks on end but there’s never been my shade in stock but I went into town a few weeks ago and the whole stand was completely empty but then I found a random one – in my shade! – tucked around the corner. I was so chuffed and I took it as a sign that I definitely needed to buy it. Especially as it’s such a bargain at just £5.

So, I’m the worst makeup blogger ever as I’ve never used a stick foundation before but I’ve always been a bit wary of stick foundations. They always look like they’re going to be really oily and I’m not sure about the hygiene of them as you’re applying them straight to your face. It suggests on the Superdrug site to blend it in with either your fingers, a beauty blender or a brush. I used to blend foundation with my fingers all the time but I think this is way too thick to do that. I tried it with a beauty blender, too, but it literally didn’t move at all – it didn’t even try and blend in! So, in the end I used a buffing brush but even then you have to work quite hard for it to blend it in.

As for the finish, I do quite like it. It looks like your skin but better as it is really high coverage. The only thing that I would say about it is that it definitely needs setting – the foundation claims to have a really dewy finish and it does so for oily skin types like me, it’s probably not the best. It does last all day and covers blemishes so well but you definitely need to powder it throughout the day if you have oily skin like me. I used the shade F6 and it was the perfect shade for me so that’s a bonus! The shade range seriously puts other foundations to shame as it has 18 different shades.

I don’t get the hype around it so much because it’s not life-changing but the price is amazing for what you get – but you do have to use quite a lot to get it all over your face so I think it would run out quite quickly. For example, I’ve only used it occasionally for the past few weeks and I would say it’s halfway gone. So, it’s swings and roundabouts with the price.

So, there you have it! Do you guys like this foundation? Let me know in the comments below! Also let me know if there are any products you would like me to review in the future as I love doing posts like this.

I have got to say that I’ve never used a stick foundation either! Seems like this is a good one, and for the price, you can’t beat it! Might be something I look into, especially for everyday type of usage. Great post Morgie xxx
