Hey guys! It has been a hot minute since I have actually done some beauty blogging on this blog so I’m going straight back in with a review of the new(ish) L.A. Girl Pro-Matte foundation. It’s also been a hot minute since I had a regular schedule on my blog but I’ll be talking about why that is very soon so stay tuned!
I saw that my favourite Youtuber (sophdoesnails) has already done a review on this foundation but I haven’t actually watched it yet because I wanted all my opinions to be my own. But I’ve always been quite safe when it’s come to foundations and stuck to brands that I know – foundation seems to be a scarier thing to test because it’s going directly onto your skin. And your face literally eats it. If you want to see the last foundation I reviewed then click here. I was looking through Beauty Bay as you do for some new products to try and I saw the L.A. Girl brand and honestly, I’ve never tried one of their products. But this foundation looked amazing and it was a really good price, too! So I thought that’s going straight in my basket. For a foundation with a lot of product, it’s a really good price for £10 from Beauty Bay.
I was excited to try this one as I have very oily skin so pro-matte really spoke to me. It says on the website that the formula is effortlessly blendable and I would have to agree. I used both my beauty blender and my brush on separate occasions to see what gave a better finish but they both looked amazing and blended in really quickly. There was no streaking and it didn’t sit in your pores. I always do my same priming routine which I’ll have to write a post on in the future but I automatically trust a foundation that you don’t have to worry too much about how you apply it.
As for the finish, I do like it. Sadly, the shade beige was a bit too dark for me so I think I should have gone for a lighter colour but honestly with the summer months coming up, and fake tan season for us gingers coming about then I don’t think people will really notice the shade difference too much. It gives you a really flawless finish and it is matte but I wouldn’t say that it stays that way all day long. I’ve been sick unfortunately so I haven’t actually got a photo of the foundation on me but I will take one soon if you guys want it and will put it on my Instagram. The shade range is… interesting. Because it has 14 different shades but for darker girls, there’s about 5. So, swings and roundabouts. If they have your shade, I definitely do recommend trying it.
I do really like this foundation overall but I think I’m gonna hold off on using it until summer when I’m hopefully a bit more tanned – thank you St Tropez. It’s so lightweight, too, so I think this will be the perfect foundation for the warmer months. The glass bottle is also a nice touch but I think that’s probably what brings the price up. But you do get a lot of product, so. You do you baby dolls.
So, there you have it! Do you guys like this foundation? Let me know in the comments below! Also let me know if there are any products you would like me to review in the future as I love doing posts like this.
