July Birchbox Review – Say ‘Yes!’ to Adventure!

Hi guys! I’ve missed the past few Birchboxes that I’ve had but I’m back on it now! I’ve officially been receiving Birchboxes for a year now and I love them just as much as I did when I first started having them. There are times when I’m disappointed with some of the products but overall, you can’t deny the little glee I get in my stomach when I get one. So, here are the products that I had this month!

Let’s get down to it!

MANNA KADAR LONG-WEAR POWDER IN PARADISE, RRP £15

I was really excited to see another Manna Kadar product in here as the last time that they gave us one, I fell in love with it. The colour itself is terrifying but if used carefully, it’s a stunning blush. I found it quite hard to get into the packaging but the pigmentation is worth the wait if you want a real flush. What I did was lightly dipped a blush brush into there and then tap it off. Apply it really gently and it looks stunning. Do I think it’s worth the price? Not really. But it is a stunning product anyway.

BROWCOTE WATERPROOF BROW GEL, RRP £6.99

I was a bit annoyed when I saw this as it wasn’t too long ago that we had another brow gel in here. I wish they did more lip products or bronzers rather than recycling similar products all the time. This one claims to be ‘clump and crunch’ free but honestly? It feels so gross on your eyebrows. I couldn’t wait to get it off. It didn’t do much apart from make my brows feel crunch and sticky and gross. I don’t have a picture of it because I threw it away without thinking!

WHAT’S IN IT FOR ME…? SHOWER SCRUB, RRP £7

Yawn. Every single review I’ve done of Birchbox always comes with me being annoyed at them sending too many shower/hair products. While this one does smell quite nice, it doesn’t do much other than that. It’s literally just a shower scrub and I’m always worried about the little beads clogging up the pipes. There’s only ever been one shower product that I loved and that was the caramel scrub that we got in the December box because it was to die for. It smelt good, felt good.

MERCI HANDY HAND CREAM IN CHERIE CHERRY, RRP £4.90

Yawn Part Two. We get so many hand creams, too. I recognised the packaging and the brand and I really do like hand creams. But now, I’ve got a bit of a backlog of them because I keep receiving them. And to be honest? I don’t really know what more I can say about them. This one doesn’t make your hands feel sticky which is the worst part of hand cream, it does absorb quickly but it doesn’t smell of cherries at all. Disappointed face.

BALANCE ME CONGESTED SKIN SERUM, RRP £16

Finally, we have another Balance Me product. I swear that we get one of these every single box. I’ve got so many of them in my collection and some of them, I love. Some of them, I don’t. This is definitely one that I don’t love. It’s supposed to be a spot treatment that works to get rid of spots and then further prevent them. It feels and smells really nice when you put it on the skin but it didn’t work at all. If anything, it made my spots worse. But I do have very sensitive skin so that could be a big part of it.

Overall, I really like the blush but other than that, this box is a bit eh. There’s some days that there are such good Birchboxes and others where I’m disappointed. But I love the company and all they stand for so I will still keep going with them. Do you guys subscribe to anything? Let me know in the comments!

Personally I’ve only ever tried the GlossyBox subscription but I’m now intrigued to try this one! x
