Hey guys! So, it’s that time of the month again where I review the latest Birchbox. The September one is themed ‘On Top Of Your World’ and provides us with a bunch of products that are supposed to help you in your everyday life to make things just that little bit easier while you’re already juggling 1000x things at once. Which if you’re a blogger, you know exactly what that’s like.
What you guys need to do before you read on the rest of this post is watch my Youtube video on this! In it, I explain a bit about the products, demo them and give my first impressions. The rest of this post is going to be my review after using the products for a week. Here’s the video, I would really appreciate it if you guys would give it a look:
You all done? Great! Let’s get into my final thoughts.
BENEFIT BOX O’POWDER IN GALIFORNIA, RRP £25.50
So, I didn’t actually use this in my video because I wanted to focus more on the skincare side of things but I love this blush so much. I was actually quite annoyed with the Gold Rush blush as it is one of the least pigmented products I have ever used in my life but this one is the complete opposite! It’s a stunning peachy colour and it’s super pigmented. Such a pretty, soft formula and it’s going to be one I return to over and over again. I’ll be doing a full face of Benefit soon so let me know in the comments if you would like to see that!
SAND & SKY AUSTRALIAN PINK CLAY FLASH PERFECTION EXFOLIATING TREATMENT, RRP £34.90
I really liked this in the video but at the time of filming, I had really really clear skin. But as the week’s progressed, I’ve found that I’ve broken out quite a lot due to my sweet tooth and this is actually way too scratchy on your face when you’ve got blemishes – it really, really hurts! But then again, I guess you wouldn’t necessarily need to use an exfoliating treatment during this time if you’re breaking out? Does that make sense? I’m not an exfoliator regularly so I’m not entirely sure!
MARCELLE CITY 24HR ANTI-POLLUTION DAY & NIGHT MOISTURIZING EMULSION, RRP £23
I really, really liked this in the video and I really like it now. It makes your skin super soft, it brightens and it is so soft and lightweight. It’s not greasy at all which is also a huge pro for me. However; the only thing I would say is that it really isn’t worth the price? I thought it would make a difference to my makeup/feel like it was protecting my skin but aside from being a decent moisturiser, it’s nothing all that special. I would recommend you try it if you’re in the city, though! It would be interesting to see if it’s just the fact that I’m in the countryside that makes the difference.
THIS WORKS PERFECT LEGS SKIN MIRACLE, RRP £37
I said in the video that I was worried about coming out in a rash because of this. I used a product very similar from Templespa and it broke me out within moments on my arms and I was itchy as anything. And, as I suspected, I broke out in a horrendous rash that left me scratching myself all day. It was really horrible but such a shame because I genuinely did like how it made my skin look. If you have sensitive skin then I would be a bit careful.
BEAUTY PROTECTOR PROTECT & BLONDE, RRP £23
Finally, we have a toning shampoo. I’ve tried various different toning shampoos before but this one did really make my hair soft. I don’t know how much of a difference it actually made to the colour of the hair but it was a nice shampoo – I often find that the purple shampoos are incredibly drying to the point that they make your hair wiry. But this one didn’t, it gave it a really lovely texture.
