Candlehead Inspired Makeup Look – Collab with FoundationsandFairytales!

Hey guys! I am so so excited for this post because it is a collab with one of my closest friends on here – Jess. She’s a Disney-nut like me and she has always been so supportive of my blog and especially my Disney makeup looks so it’s been so exciting to do a post that we’ve both enjoyed!

The makeup look that she chose was Vanellope from Wreck-It Ralph and I decided to do another one of the racers, Candlehead. She doesn’t have a huge part but I really loved her colour palette and I thought it would be a good little makeup look to try – super blushy, super colourful. Just the way I like them. So, let’s get into the makeup!

For the base, I recommend just doing your same old routine to make your skin look as natural as possible. We’ll add in any extra colour/details later so you don’t need to worry about that. I took the Urban Decay Optical Illusion Primer paired with the Maybelline SuperStay Foundation (which I reviewed here) and blended all of that in with my favourite foundation blush. Set with foundation – we do want the end result to be glowy but a controlled glow, you get me?

I combined these two sections of the face together because there’s not really all that much to do with the look in terms of I didn’t have to spend too much time on it. I just took the black colour ‘Reputation’ from the sophdoesnails Extra Spice palette which I used for the rest of the look. I filled them both in and dragged the tail down a little bit further than I normally would to give my face a bit of a cartoon-y look.

Next, onto the most vital part of the look. I wanted to convey that beautiful emerald that her hair is onto the eyes while also adding the shock of pink. So first, I took ‘Cookie Dough’ all over the lid to create a transitional shade before I added ‘Lakes’ and darkened the crease up. I then took ‘Aurora’ and added it all over the lid. Keep adding this until you feel it’s as green as you want it to be. On my finger, I then took ‘LA Sun’ and dragged it down the centre of the lid. Finally, add mascara and run ‘Twenty One’ on the lower lash line so that we get the pink in there, too. It’s extra but that’s why I love it. Add your favourite mascara and add lots of it. You want big, cartoon eyes.

This is definitely my favourite part of the look – the blush. I love doing super blushy looks as you’ll know if you’ve followed my blog for a while. And for this one, I did something a bit different. I took my favourite Tarte blush and added it in the areas you normally would before I then went in with a lip powder from my Birchbox and I contoured my nose and temples with it. This gives you such a cute button nose and it looks so lovely.

As for highlight, I would go with one that gives you that ‘wet’ highlight look. I took the pure white one from the sophdoesnails highlighter palette and applied it everywhere – inner corners, eyebrows, cheek bones, above the lip, tip of the nose. Go highlight crazy.

Finally, we have the lips. I wanted to give them a super plump, pouty look so I overlined my upper lip especially to emphasise my Cupid’s bow and then slightly on the lower lip to give me a really pouty, cute look. I used this lovely liquid lipstick from Beauty Pie which has become one of my favourite lipsticks since using it in this look – I forgot how much I loved it!

So, there you have it! Did you guys like this look? Please go and check out Jess’ post and the rest of her blog – it is one of my favourites and she is such a cutie!
