Hey guys! Welcome back to my blog – I hope you’re all doing well! So, for those of you that don’t know, Blogtober is a time of the year when bloggers write a new blog post for every single day of the month of October. You mainly write about something that is relevant to Autumn/Fall and it’s basically a good time to hone your skill in writing and posting.
I know plenty of people have done it in advance of their posting day so that they’re not having to physically write a new post every day. But for some that works, and for others, it may not. Me being one of those people. Blogging is something that I do when I’m feelign inspired. So when I sat down with the intention of writing out 31 blog posts in one go and editing all of the photos for them, I felt really overwhelmed. I thought that perhaps the content wasn’t going to be as good or as well thought out as I wanted it to be and for me, it was quality. Not quantity.
So, I wrote about five posts, set them all to be scheduled and forgot about Blogtober until I realised I had missed three days. But during those three days, I had been working full time, had been seeing my friends, my family and also filming my Youtube videos. So it wasn’t as if I was just thinking ‘ugh, I can’t be bothered’. I could. But I didn’t want to churn something out for the sake of it.
Inspiration is something that isn’t equal among everyone at once. For some, it might be totally easy to sit down and write a bunch of posts out and they’re all super quality. But for me, I know that if I did it – when I read the post back, I would be disappointed with myself. It wouldn’t be my best work. Whereas I feel like posts like this where I’m more honest with you guys are my best. They’re straight from the heart which is what my blogging should be, right? A reflection of myself. So, here I am. The busy little bee that I am that yes, did choose to watch a film with my family instead of writing up a billion posts.
What am I trying to say here?
Don’t pressure yourself. Don’t compare yourself. You might be following a blogger who is writing so many posts and they’re all amazing and they’re generating great traffic to their blog. And you’re wondering how can I do that? Simple. Don’t try. If you’re not mentally in the place to do it, don’t force it. That blogger could be in a totally different position than you are. They could have a lot more free time or they could type faster or they could have written up their posts in July.
Everyone’s different. But we’re all amazing.
Sorry if this post is a bit rambly. I just wanted to get mah feels out. Does anyone say mah feels anymore? I’m bringing it back.
Morgie out. x
