Hey guys! Welcome back to my blog, I hope you’re all doing well. So, we’re on Day 9 of Blogtober. How is everyone getting on? I would love to read all of your posts so please feel free to send them through to me! I’m absolutely loving reading everyone’s thoughts on everything and anything.
Speaking of which… who else loves Autumn? I know that a lot of people have been going on about why they love it and it’s a lot of cosy jumpers and candles and everything so just assume that I wrote all of that out, too. And while those things are things that I really do enjoy, there’s more to the month that I love. Let’s get into it below!
Cosy Nights In Don’t Look ‘Lazy’.
So, I’ll be honest with you guys. There’s literally nothing I enjoy more than having a lush night in, all curled up in a blanket with a good film on and a cuppa tea in one hand. Pringles in the other? Who knows. I deserve it. But during the warmer, summer months there’s a real pressure to go out all the time and make the most of the weather. And don’t get me wrong, I love a walk in the beautiful world we live in as much as the next person. But you know what I also love? Nothing. I love doing absolutely nothing. Staring blankly at a screen, listening to some music while it rains outside. This season means that I can just suggest a film night to my friends and family and they won’t look at me like I’m some sort of vampire.
Less Pressure To Look ‘Good’.
I put this in quotation marks because I really resent the whole ‘summer glow’ thing that you’re supposed to just naturally pick up. Our favourite influencers are always out there like ‘look at my tan guys!!!’ which is great. If you can tan. Which rolls into my third point so I won’t bark on too much about it. But who else is loving hiding your legs under trousers and tights again? It’s so much less pressure to keep up with the irritating shaving routine. Some of you may disagree and that’s fine. But for me, it’s so much more relaxing to not constantly be worrying if I’ve missed a patch!
Leg hair isn’t the only thing, either. Everyone whips out the highlighter for summer and the bronzers to make them look like sunkissed goddesses. Which is great! But while it may look great for an Instagram picture, there’s the very real thing of makeup and sweat mixing together into this gross gobule of oilyness that make your pores just look… not great. I’m loving wearing a more full coverage foundation while not worrying whether my face is melting off!
Nobody Points Out How Pale I Am.
This kind of follows on from the last point. The main comment I got all the time during summer was how I should go out in the sun more. Which I did! Quite a lot! But I either burned or just didn’t tan. So I turned to fake tanner or similar products to give myself more of a bronzed look but I’m loving returning to my ghostly self again. She lives!
Yep, this is more of the basic ‘Zoella’ what I love about Autumn points. But I absolutely love wearing more intense makeup during the winter months. You get away with bolder lips, darker lips, being harsher on the blush and eyeshadow. I’ll be doing a post before Blogtober is over all about my favourite Autumnal lipsticks – so if you guys have any suggestions about which ones are your favourite then I would absolutely love to hear them! Especially if you have any tips about wearing them without absolutely destroying your lips, too. Who else is suffering from the dry, windy weather?!
Christmas Is On The Way!
Last but not least – Christmas is coming. Christmas is hands down my favourite time of year and I seriously cannot wait until it’s here. I love buying presents, decorating the house, eating the food and just spending time with my loved ones. There’s seriously nothing better and it cannot come fast enough.
So, there you have it! There’s some of the things that I love about Autumn/Fall. What do you guys like the most? Let me know in the comments below!
