Blogtober Day 10 – When Makeup Goes Wrong!

Hey guys! How are we all doing? We’re a third of the way thorugh Blogtober – can you believe it?! I can’t! It’s going so so quickly and I’m going to be sad when it’s over. I love the build up to winter and how cosy everything is at the moment. And we also have really lovely sunny weather where I am which is so nice matched with the crunchy autumn leaves. Ugh. I just love it!

But my post isn’t anything about crunchy leaves and to be honest… it’s not really much to do with Autumn or October at all. The other day, I sat down to film a video for my Youtube channel. I had such a good idea of what I wanted it to look like, how I wanted it to come across. I wanted to do a Venom inspired makeup look because I was (and still am!) excited for the release of the film with the delicious Tom Hardy. So, how better to express that than to do a makeup look? I was going to do a really smokey cut crease and match it with symbiote lines going up my face and neck with a mauve lip.

So, I sat down. All excited and ready to film. And it went… HORRIBLY. Literally the most horrendous makeup look I have ever done. And by the end of it, I was so frustrated with myself that I wiped it all off and was more than prepared to delete the video and never let it see the light of day. But then when I thought about it, I thought about how everyone on Youtube and on their blogs are just learning how to do makeup and trying different things out. None of us are going to wake up one day and be a trained makeup artist unless you go to makeup school. Even then – you’re not guaranteed for success!

So, I edited it. I uploaded it. Here it is. Everyone’s on a journey and this was a stumbling block in mine.

So, there you have it! Have you guys ever had a makeup fail? Let me know in the comments below!

I think it’s always worth showing the moments where makeup just does not want to work with you- that’s honestly me all the time anyway haha!

Venom was a really good film I hope you enjoy it when you do get to see it! I have more bad makeup days than I care to admit and it’s so good that you did this to show that nobody is perfect! Can’t wait to watch the video!

Most of my makeup experiments end up being fails, to be honest. I’m just not good at makeup and so I rarely wear it. I’d love to get into FX makeup though!
