Hey guys! So, if you have been following my blog for a while then you’ll know that pretty much since I first started blogging, I have been an avid fan of beauty boxes and especially Birchbox. However, after two years of having them (almost) I have receievd some really bad customer service from them which is still ongoing so I thought it was time for a change so I have officially joined the Glossy family! I couldn’t have been more excited as I’ve always seen that they’ve had incredible products and I can’t wait for my next one already! Especially as the February box is going to have a Huda Beauty lip liner in it which I can’t believe!
The January box is based around New Years resolutions in the beauty community – moisturising more, using hair masks, trying a new beauty tool. I like the way it’s similar to Birchbox in that there’s a theme to the whole box that it sticks to.
Let’s get into the products!
Avant Skincare’s Deluxe Hyaluronic Acid Vivifying Face & Eye Night Cream – RRP £98.00
Okay, so first of all – I was seriously surprised to see the normal price on this. 98 POUNDS???!??!?!?! I literally cannot compute spending that amount of money on a product no matter how good it was but I had no idea that this was how much it was. I’m seriously shook. It would literally have to be a product that took like… Emily Blunt’s face and put it on my face for me to spend that much money. And even then I would be considering the fact that it was too much money. But this night cream (with the really, really long name) is seriously lovely. I’ve been quite into night creams with the ones that I’ve discovered in the past few years but I would have to say that my favourite is still the Polaar one from the last Birchbox I reviewed.
Batiste Rethink Dry Shampoo – RRP £4.25
Is there anyone who doesn’t rely on dry shampoo? I seriously am so grateful that someone thought this product up because it has saved my butt more than once in the past and it will do in the future. I still haven’t quite managed the skill of recognising when I’ve used the dry shampoo for too many days in a row and I look like someone’s dumped a load of talcum powder on my head. But this is Batiste’s new range of dry shampoos which are supposed to help you to restore your hair whether it’s dry or lifeless. It smells incredible, too. I really love Batiste – alongside Aussie, they do the best dry shampoos.
Wilkinson Sword Beauty Eyebrow Shaper – RRP £3.99
So… I have a confession to make. I’ve always been someone who shaves my eyebrows. Yep! I know, I’m just as ashamed as you are. But the other day, I took a tweezer to my eyebrows and I’m never going back to shaving them. Not only was it really really bad for my skin, I had no control over the shape of them. So if you are like me and you’re someone who shaves their eyebrows – *vine voice* stop it. Get some help. This product is a good inbetween if you’re not ready to go as cold turkey as I did with shaving my eyebrows – it’s a razor that is designed specifically for shaping your eyebrows. I did actually like the idea of it but in practice, it was really hard to use. It also hurt a little bit so I’m not sure if I’m using it right. I do like the idea of it though!
Hask Repairing Deep Conditioning Treatment – RRP £2.49
My go-to hair mask is the Tresemme one (which I reviewed here) so I was a bit side-eye when I saw this one. The Tresemme one has always been sogood for me, it saved my hair when it was super long but this one is equally nice. It was really conditioning and did what I expected it to – it made it soft but realistically? It wasn’t life changing. And it also smelled absolutely disgusting which I was really disappointed with. I don’t know if it’s just me but I hated everything about the smell. I’m going to use it again to give it a second chance but Tresemme is still the winner for me!
-417 Facial Micro Luffa Foaming Gel – RRP £22.71
Finally, we have another skincare product. This claims to be able to remove your makeup as it has little exfoliating beads within it that you can work into the skin and get all of the makeup out of your pores. But I’ve not used it as a complete makeup remover yet as I don’t feel that these products work too well and always leave something behind but I might try it in the future! This smelt really nice, worked well into the skin and I will definitely be using it for a little while to come as I love exfoliating products so much. I don’t think it’s worth the full regular price, however. But I suppose that depends on how much you’re willing to pay on skincare products!
So, there you have it! Do you guys subscribe to Glossybox? Let me know in the comments if you do and I’ll see you next time!
